The London International Honey Awards contest is an annual event that takes place in England and aims to analyze samples of honey from around the world, and qualify them through physical tests (nutritional content, pollen spectrum, HMF and others), and organoleptic tests (color, aroma, texture and taste). According to the results of the analyses, the honeys earn scores that define the type of medal: Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum, the latter being the maximum prize.
The London International Honey Awards is one of the most influential competitions in the world of beekeeping, and has a qualified team of expert judges from different countries, with extensive experience in the sector. The contest takes place annually and has received more than 300 samples of honey produced around the world. Among the countries of the American continent, only Brazil, the United States and Canada had honeys elected with the maximum award.
The sample sent to the competition was the honey Baldoni organic glass jar, from wildflowers from the southeastern region of Brazil, 2021/2022 harvest. This contest crowns Mel Baldoni, which has been elected the best honey in Brazil several times, with the highest prize in one of the most prestigious competitions in the world.
The Award Ceremony will take place this coming Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 1pm to 5pm Brasilia time, at the ILEC Conference Center (Ibis earls court hotel London) in London and will be streamed via Youtube in this link, or by the video embedded in this page
